Arrival Day
The journey begins. After a transatlantic flight, all you need is a wonderful room, a cold Negroni, and one of the most entertaining dinners in New York.
1
4:15pm
Land at JFK on BA177. Go through passport control, collect your bags, and head straight to Murray Hill.

6:00pm
Check in at Martinique. Freshen up, relax, and make yourself a drink from the minibar.
3
8:00pm

About Carbone: Tuxedoed waiters, Caesar salad prepared tableside, the legendary spicy rigatoni vodka, and a Sinatra-era soundtrack that makes you feel like you've stepped into a fantasy of New York's golden age. It's lively, à la carte, and completely unpretentious — the perfect energy for the arrival evening. No tasting menu pressure, just pure enjoyment.
Day 2 · Friday 4 September
Broadway Day
The Rhythm of the Day
A slow, unhurried morning — that’s the gift of a boutique hotel with breakfast included. Walk to Bryant Park with a coffee and watch Midtown wake up. The afternoon is yours to wander, browse storefronts, or simply rest.
  • Morning — A calm start, breakfast at the hotel, coffee at Bryant Park
  • Afternoon — A light lunch near the hotel
  • 5:00pm — Pre-theatre dinner at The Modern
  • 7:00pm — MJ The Musical, Neil Simon Theatre
  • 9:30pm — Nightcap back at Martinique — or at Noksu, the Michelin-starred Korean counter inside the hotel
The Modern ✦✦
Two Michelin stars, housed inside MoMA — perhaps the most elegant pre-theatre preparation in Manhattan. Their pre-theatre prix fixe has the kind of pace that feels engineered for a 7pm curtain, just six minutes’ walk away. Expect refined French technique from Gabriel Kreuther with seasonal New York ingredients.
MJ The Musical 🎭
The story of Michael Jackson’s creative genius, on the stage of Neil Simon Theatre. With choreography that has earned rave reviews, impressive set design, and music that needs no introduction. The tickets are already secured — a spectacular night awaits.
Day 3 · Saturday September 5
Liberty & Lower Manhattan
Liberty in the morning, the moving but open-air Memorial in the afternoon, time to breathe before a three-Michelin-star dinner.
01
9:00am — Ferry to Statue of Liberty + Ellis Island
Pedestal access pre-booked. The views toward the harbor and Lower Manhattan from Liberty Island are exceptional — absolutely worth the wait.
02
12:30pm — Lunch on Stone Street
One of the most charming historic streets in Lower Manhattan — with cobblestones, outdoor tables, and very good food, just a few minutes from the ferry terminal.
03
2:30pm — Walk the 9/11 Memorial reflecting pools
Quiet, moving, and exceptionally designed. The Reflecting Pools are among the most moving public spaces in America.
04
3:30pm — Stroll Battery Park / waterfront, coffee stop
Take it slow with a waterfront walk and a coffee before heading back to the hotel.
05
5:00pm — Back to hotel to change
A little reset before dinner.
06
7:30pm — Cab to Le Bernardin ✦✦✦
Eric Ripert’s three-Michelin-star seafood restaurant — perhaps New York’s most consistently brilliant fine-dining room. The four-course prix fixe is the only right choice. Ten minutes from the hotel.

Day 4 · Sunday 6 September
Brooklyn & The Grand Finale
Morning & Afternoon
  • 10:00am — Walk across Brooklyn Bridge, from the Manhattan side to DUMBO
  • 12:00pm — Brunch at Cecconi's, DUMBO — the best view of the New York skyline, without exaggeration
  • 3:00pm — MoMA: Picasso, Van Gogh, Warhol, and the permanent collection
  • 5:00pm — Return to the Martinique to get ready for the evening
Per Se ✦✦✦ — The Finale
The legendary Thomas Keller flagship sits above Columbus Circle, with views of Central Park. Three Michelin stars. A nine-course tasting menu that unfolds over three hours — elegant, effortless, and truly unforgettable.
We’ll request a table with a view of the park. The park at sunset, paired with Keller’s cooking, is the very best New York has to offer. Plan on the whole evening — this is not a restaurant for rushing.
Per Se — Thomas Keller's three-star dining room overlooking Central Park.
Day 5 · Monday September 7
SoHo & Sunset
SoHo is New York's most distinctive shopping district — 19th-century cast-iron buildings filled with everything from Chanel and Dior flagships to small independents and concept stores. A more relaxed, design-led day than Fifth Avenue, with proper restaurants and coffee stops built in.
10:30am — Coffee & breakfast in SoHo
Start at La Mercerie or Jack's Wife Freda for an easy morning meal before the shopping begins.
11:00am — Wander SoHo
Cast-iron architecture, designer flagships and independent boutiques. Focus on Greene, Mercer, Prince, Spring and West Broadway.
1:30pm — Lunch at Balthazar or Sadelle's
The iconic SoHo brasserie, or Sadelle's, for a proper sit-down break in the middle of the day.
3:00pm — More SoHo browsing
Independent designers, vintage, homeware — the slower, more design-led side of the neighborhood.
5:00pm — Cab back to hotel
Head back, freshen up, and get ready for the evening.
8:30pm — Casual dinner
Something easy and nearby — or Noksu, if there's a seat.
Day 6 · Tuesday 8 September
Departure Day
The final chapter. Take it slow — you honored New York the way it deserves. One last perfect morning before the long journey home.
Morning
Bagels at Sadelle's in SoHo — the best bagels in New York, without question. Smoked salmon, cream cheese, all the fixings.
Late morning
Last coffee, last stroll. Maybe one final lap around Bryant Park or a quiet walk back along Fifth Avenue.
12:00pm
Check-out from Martinique. Say goodbye to one of New York's most historic hotels.
3:00pm
Take a taxi to JFK Terminal 8 — leave plenty of time. The city will still be there when you go.
6:30pm
Flight BA112 departs for home. Five exceptional days behind you.

Sadelle's SoHo bagels are worth the small detour — order the everything bagel with Nova lox. Non-negotiable.
Reservations That Need to Be Booked

Tickets are already secured — Neil Simon Theatre, 7:00pm Friday.
🗽 Statue of Liberty
Book pedestal access in advance — it sells out weeks ahead on recreation.gov.
🏛 9/11 Museum
Timed entry is recommended — book directly at 911memorial.org.
🌆 Summit One Vanderbilt
Book your sunset slot in advance for 6:30pm Monday at summit1vanderbilt.com.
Some notes for the trip
🌤 The weather in early September
Mid-September in New York averages 72°F / 22°C — warm, golden days with a pleasant chill once the sun goes down. It is perhaps the loveliest time of year to be in the city: after the summer rush, before the autumn cold, and with that special low light that makes Manhattan feel like a movie set.
👜 What to bring with you
  • Comfortable walking shoes — you will cover serious distances every day
  • A polished outfit for each Michelin dinner night
  • A light jacket or layer for the evenings
  • A pair of especially good shoes for Per Se
🚖 Getting around
Manhattan is extremely walkable between most of your stops. The subway is fast and reliable for longer trips — a MetroCard or contactless payment gets you everywhere. For Michelin dinners, Uber is the civilized choice: you arrive relaxed, not sweaty.
🏨 Diamond Status perks
Your Hilton Diamond status at Martinique unlocks free breakfast for two every morning and a room upgrade, subject to availability — worth mentioning at check-in. A wonderful way to start each day and one less decision to make.
Would you change anything?
This is the draft — and the best itineraries are collaborative. Here are the open questions worth discussing before we finalize everything.
Add anything to Saturday evening?
Saturday has already been lightened up: after Battery Park and the Memorial reflecting pools, there’s now a comfortable gap before Le Bernardin. If you’d like to add a drink somewhere first, that would fit beautifully — otherwise it can stay a calmer evening.
Any specific SoHo stops to add?
The current plan covers Greene, Mercer, Prince, Spring and West Broadway on Monday. If there are any specific stores or galleries you’d like to include, we can weave them in and tailor the route even more closely to your taste.
Is anything missing?
The High Line? The Whitney? A jazz club in West Village on Saturday night? A specific neighborhood you've always wanted to explore? This is still a living document — tell me what draws you in, and we'll add it.
❤️ Let's make this trip ours. 5 days, one exceptional city, and two people who know how to travel well together. Whatever we adjust, it will be a wonderful week.
